A little further
from the Lefkatas Cape, there is the beach of Plakas. It is
a quiet, lonely beach which is connected with the main road
artery through a dirt road. Its waters are the most cold waters
around the island.
On the south coast, in the gulf of Vasiliki, spreads along beach
called Ponti. It is the meeting point for surfers around the
world. In the afternoon a thermal phenomenon causes strong winds
which allow surfers to surf in the open sea towards Cefalonia.
Behind Vasiliki there is the graphic beach of Agios Gerasimos.
In the east, inside a fairy gulf, there is Agiofili beach. It
is a small white beach with crystal waters, ideal location for
fairies.
Under the village of Marantohori, lies the beach of Ammouso.
It has got thick sand and pebbles and it is crowded during the
summer.
